Yo! What's up? My name is Mario. And no, I don't have a brother named Luigi. The 1MoreRound part comes from the Rocky movies, and also, it's the name of the company my boy RJ and I started, 1MoreRound Entertainment. For those of you who are familiar with me already, you already know the deal. For those of you who don't, here we go.
I re-vamped this website so it could better coincide with all the things I do. What do I do you ask? Well, I'm an author, a blogger, a motivator, a YouTuber, a podcaster, and an all-around dream-chaser. I wrote and published a book called I've Said It All Before, all about my life before and after losing 200 lbs, quitting smoking, and overcoming a bunch of mental and emotional hurdles. Hurdles is a nice way of saying being bullied, sexually abused, friend-zoned multiple times, and losing loved ones.
Or in simpler terms, my book is all about overcoming the shit-storms of life.
After that, I started using the stuff I'd been through to try to help inspire others to chase their dreams. In the midst of that, RJ and I wrote and published 3 issues of our own comic book Evolusion. It's available on IndyPlanet.com. We're now in the process of scripting the next 8 issues and pitching it to major studios. We also promote and sell our stuff at conventions often, and in the meantime, try to connect with people as much as possible. Because well, it's fun!
I started to see that the same principles that helped me lose weight and quit smoking could be applied to other things, which is how the comic and the book came to be. That prompted me to start my down-to-earth motivational YouTube show From Grateful To Greatness. Basically? It's dream-chasing for the average joe. Good times baby!
We started a podcast with our friend John and my cousin Nick called Getting Back To Gotham. There we just clown around, talking about all things geek. You can give it a listen on Soundcloud.com, Stitcher, or ITunes. Just be ready to hear a boatload of cursing.
Like I said, I do a lot of stuff, and I wanted a place that could represent it all. I also wanted a spot where people could read blogs and watch videos that would entertain or inspire. Or if I'm lucky, do both. I appreciate you stopping by, and reading this far. There's 3 years worth of stuff already on this site, including a year straight of daily blogs from 2015.
You get the whole deal now? Any questions? Well if so, hit me up. I love to talk, if you couldn't already tell.
Now, on with the show. Let's go!!!
